Balancing Act
by Douglas A. Cox
Crazy gold miners and wild forty-niners,
Cowboys and carpenters, women and men,
Pioneers, patriots, preachers and tailors,
Building America end to end.
From these explorers, we've taken the helm,
To sail-off on our uncharted way,
To offer our services, shape other lives,
And strengthen our nation each day.
On this day of rest... and wise reflection,
Rejoice in your work and make way
For love and laughter and joy ever-after
To balance your work and your play.
"Celebrate! You have changed the world!"
